Abstract
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Abstract submissions are invited from Fellows and Members of the West African College of Physicians (WACP), as well as other health professionals in fields relevant to the theme and sub-themes of the 2025 WACP Annual General and Scientific Meeting (AGSM) for presentation at the conference.
Guidelines for Submission
A. Language: All abstracts must be submitted in English (British)— a good French translation is encouraged.
B. Format:
1. Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx)
2. Font: Times New Roman, Size: 12pt
3. Maximum length: 250 words (excluding title, author's names and affiliations)
C. Author Information:
1. Include last name and initials only (no professional titles)
2. Indicate affiliations/addresses
3. The functional email of the corresponding author must be provided
4. The presenting author's name must be underlined
Abstract Structure
Each abstract must follow the structure below:
1. Introduction / Background
2. Objective(s)
3. Methods
4. Results
5. Conclusions
Abstract Structure
-Do not include image sortables in the abstract.
-Only standard acronyms/abbreviations are allowed. Uncommon ones should be spelled out the first time, with the acronym in parentheses.
-Use numerals for numbers above nine
Important Requirements
- All presenting authors and co-authors must disclose any conflict of interest
- Presenting authors must register for the conference
- Only abstracts conforming to these guidelines will be reviewed
Key Dates
- Abstract Submission Deadline: Sunday, 28th September 2025 – by 12midnight .
- Acceptance Notification: Within two(2) weeks of submission
- Full Presentation Submission Deadline: 28th September 2025
Accepted abstract will be presented either as an Oral or Poster presentantion. Final decision rest with the Scientific Subcommittee
All accepted abstract will be published in the Conference Proceedings Book and in the West African Journal of Medicine (WAJM).
